Russia makes no effort to return prisoners of war - Yusov

Despite the loud statements by the Russian military leadership, the enemy is not making any effort to release its prisoners of war. However, negotiations on the exchange of prisoners are continuing.
A representative of the Defence Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate, Andriy Yusov, said this on air of the United News telethon, Ukrinform reported.
We state the fact that despite the recent public statements by Shoigu and other officials of the aggressor state that it is important for them to return the prisoners, they are not making any real efforts to do so. Nevertheless, the negotiations have not stopped all this time and continue," Yusov stressed.
He added that Ukraine was counting on the result of the negotiations and was preparing in accordance with international legislation. It is also actively replenishing the exchange fund.
At the same time, Yusov did not name the number of Ukrainian captives in the Russian Federation. However, a representative of the Defence Ministry's GUR said that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine there have been almost 50. Thus, more than 2.5 thousand Ukrainians were returned from Russian captivity.
