Russian forces continue to improve tactics and intensify strikes in Ukraine by improving the performance of guided aerial bombs (GABs).

According to a representative of the Defence Forces of southern Ukraine, Vladyslav Voloshyn, these bombs are now capable of reaching the centre of Zaporizhzhya and other settlements located at a distance of more than 30 km from the front line. New versions of UABs have reached such cities as Kharkiv, Kramatorsk, Orekhiv and others. In Orekhiv, which is less than 10 kilometres from the contact line, Russian strikes are particularly frequent, including shelling with multiple rocket launchers.

Activation of the enemy in the south and Dnipro direction

According to Voloshyn, the enemy has intensified in the south of Ukraine, amassing forces for an assault in the Orekhovsky direction. Also, the occupiers are daily attacking Bolshoi, Belogrudy and Kazatsky islands on the Dnieper. These positions are located near Kherson, and their capture will allow Russia to increase pressure on Ukrainian positions on the right bank of the river.

The Russians are actively using watercraft, buggies, quad bikes and motorbikes for rapid movements and attacks. Daily clashes result in the elimination of enemy equipment, including boats and assault teams. Russian forces are also actively using drones, aviation and conducting reconnaissance and search operations aimed at locating Ukrainian artillery positions and clearing defensive lines.

The Ukrainian defence forces are successfully controlling islands on the Dnieper and preventing enemy attempts to gain a foothold on captured positions. Ukrainian troops regularly repel attacks, holding strategically important lines.

Earlier, the AFU commander-in-chief, Oleksandr Syrskyy, said that Putin's words about the encirclement of the AFU in Kursk Region were a fake and a distortion of the real situation on the front.
