Ukrainian families can receive about 400 euros a month until the end of the year.

This was reported by Not News.

Romania has changed its support system for Ukrainian refugees. Now those Ukrainian families who find work and enrol their children in schools in Romania will receive 2,000 lei (400 euros) per family monthly until the end of the year.

The money will be paid directly to refugees and not to landlords for housing refugees.

Romania now pays landlords who host Ukrainian families. The payment is about 14 euros per day.

We want Ukrainian refugees to be independent in our country, for children to be able to go to school and to return home with dignity when the time comes.

The Romanian government changed the system because it was costly for the state. For example, a 2-bedroom flat for 300 euros which hosted 4 refugees brought the owner 1,000 euros thanks to this 50/20 programme, while a villa for hosting 16 people cost the state 5,000 euros per month.
