Russia gathers new battalions to send to Ukraine - GUR MO

Russia intends to form 16 new battalions, which will be sent to war in Ukraine. Vadim Skibitsky, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense , said this in an interview with the Radio Liberty Krym.Realii project.

According to him, about 50 constituent entities of the Russian Federation received orders to form such battalions, the number is different - 500-600 people.

The first is about these so-called volunteer, patriotic battalions. This is a new approach, which the Russian Federation has started quite recently. We clearly know that today 8 battalions have already been formed. It is planned to form another 8 battalions by the end of the month, it will be 16 battalions,” he said.

He specified that the RF Ministry of Defense intends to recruit about 4,000 people in each region, including in Crimea.

According to the GUR, Russia is now forming another corps in the Nizhny Novgorod region, the number of which will be from 10 to 15 thousand people . This unit of the Russian Federation prepares for defense.

At the same time, Skibitsky stressed that the new military personnel are much worse prepared for war than those who have already been thrown into Ukraine and died here.
