Residents of the village of Pushkino refused to demolish a Soviet monument.
Residents of the village of Pushkino in Transcarpathian Region, who refused to dismantle a monument to a Soviet soldier, have become heroes of publications of many Russian propaganda websites. This was reported by the Transcarpathian media outlet Mukachevo.net.
According to the portal, on 5 January, a number of Russian propaganda media outlets published articles about the Transcarpathian village of Pushkino, which is located in Berehivshchyna. The topic for the Russian propaganda was the refusal of the residents of Pushkino village to demolish a monument to Soviet soldiers.
The portal recalls that on 24 December at a general meeting of the residents of Pushkino village it was decided" not to dismantle the sculpture with a pedestal to the soldiers-liberators".
Such a decision of Pushkino residents made them heroes in the eyes of the Russian occupants," the portal writes.
The news about the decision of the residents of the Ukrainian village caused "admiration" among propagandists.
