Destruction of the Kakhovka hydropower plant: Mykolaiv floods beaches, water approaches tenement houses


The water level in Nikolaev water area has risen by a total of 82 cm.
This was announced by the mayor of the city, Aleksandr Senkevich. Earlier, he said that the critical level would be 105 cm.
According to the mayor's office, as of 18:00, the situation in the city districts is as follows:
Zavodskoy district
Flooding - the water came up to the stopping complexes. We are fortifying the bank at the lowest point. Machinery is already working.
The coastal line near Levanevtsev (the beach) and Yacht Club (restaurants and boat houses) is waterlogged
Ingulsky district
There is water rise from Zheleznodorozhnaya street, the beach is waterlogged.
Korabelnyi district
Flooding near Rybnaya Street, water reached some piers of the boathouse cooperative.
Central district
Lower Naberezhnaya Street, the ground is sinking due to water level rise. Municipal workers have fenced the area with tape. Nikolaev citizens are asked not to stroll there.
Strelka and Verbochka beaches are waterlogged.
There is no threat of flooding at Rocket tract.
Also authorities and utilities are reinforcing the lowest points of the city beaches.
The water is coming up to the public transport stops. They are reinforcing the bank to keep it from going further onto the roadway and into the houses.
It is also known that as a result of the Kakhovskaya HPP blowing up at the Nikolaev Yacht Club, restaurants and shuttle bases located on the shore were flooded. In addition, ground subsidence began to occur on Nizhnyaya Naberezhnaya.
