He arrived to prepare explosions on the railway: a saboteur was detained in Chernivtsi

Ukrainian special forces prevented a series of large-scale sabotage on the railway by detaining an enemy agent during a multi-stage special operation in Chernivtsi.

"The SBU has detained a Russian saboteur who arrived from the Middle East to prepare explosions at Ukrzaliznytsia," the report says.

The saboteur has a passport of a citizen of Ukraine and a Kyiv residence permit, but for a long time he was on conservation in one of the Middle Eastern countries.

“After the start of the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation, the agent received from his “curators” the task of arriving in Ukraine to collect intelligence through the transport channels for the supply of weapons and military equipment for our state. In addition, the attacker had to reconnoiter the locations of fuel tanks and the deployment of Ukrainian military units on Bukovina," the ministry said.
