- Why pensions have not been indexed for everyone

After the indexation of pensions on 1 March, benefits did not increase for everyone. In particular, pensions for people with disabilities did not change.
Sergey Korobkin, a journalist at the Social Information Platform and an expert on pension issues, explained why not all pensioners received an increase.
Most complaints about the lack of indexation come from people with disabilities, whose benefits have not changed.
According to the expert, this situation is due to the fact that disability payments are not classified as pension payments. They are classified as social payments and are assigned by the social protection body.
Social payments have not been indexed this year. This is because they are affected by the minimum subsistence level, which has not been increased in 2023 either.
If a person receives disability payments in the Pension Fund, he could receive the minimum increase (from 2100 to 2520) only if he is not working. If you are working, the pension is the same.
Recalculation can be made only after he/she is laid off.
The expert also noted that disability pensions for war veterans have not changed either. Although the draft decree suggests this.
