There are now many false messages on social media that Ukrainians can easily get pensions in Poland.
This is reported by the portal"Me in Poland".
Ukrainians have to meet a number of conditions and pay contributions in Poland in order to receive a Polish pension.
The Polish Social Insurance Office said that Poland and Ukraine signed a bilateral agreement on social security in 2012.
However, this does not mean that Poland will pay pensions to everyone.
Here are a few conditions for receiving a pension in Poland:
- age 60 for women and 65 for men;
- payment of contributions in Poland - legal employment.
In Poland, Ukrainians' pensions are paid by ZUS for the period of working in this country. Therefore the payment for a few months of work will be symbolic for Ukrainians.
Ukrainians can also receive supplements to their pensions. For that you need to have:
- entitlement to a pension for foreigners (age, payment of contributions in Poland, length of service)
- habitual residence in Poland;
- the right to legal residence on the basis of a document issued by the Office for Foreigners or on the basis of an entry in the register of the Border Guard.
