The Security Service of Ukraine published evidence that the Kakhovka HPP was blown up by the occupiers

This was reported by the SBU press service.

The SBU has published intercepts of the occupants' conversations. They themselves admit that the Kakhovka hydropower plant was blown up by a Russian sabotage group.

In particular, the intercepts say directly that it was not Ukraine that blew up the dam.

It was not them (Ukraine - ed.) who blew it up. Our sabotage group did it. They wanted to scare with this dam. It did not go according to plan, but more than they planned.

The head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasily Malyuk commented on the actions of the Russians:

By blowing up the Kakhovska hydroelectric dam, the Russian federation has definitively proved that it is a threat to the entire civilised world. After all, only a truly terrorist state can create a man-made and ecological disaster of this level. And it will be held accountable for this - both on the battlefield and in international courts. Our task is to bring to justice not only the top brass of Putin's regime, but also the rank-and-file perpetrators of these crimes.

The Security Service of Ukraine has opened criminal proceedings over a Russian war crime. The investigation has been launched under two articles of the Criminal Code - Article 438 (violation of laws and customs of war) and Article 441 (ecocide).
