Paris will send the head of the country's Ministry of Defense to Kyiv

The programme for the visit of the head of the French Ministry of Defence is not yet finalised.
French Defence Minister Sébastien Lecorniou will visit Kyiv on Wednesday, 28 December, the ministry confirmed to BFMTV and Le Figaro.
It is said that Lecorniou's visit is to "demonstrate to the Ukrainian authorities the unwavering support of France since the war began on 24 February".
The programme of the French Defence Minister's visit is not reported at the moment, but he is expected to pay his respects to the fallen Ukrainian servicemen during a visit to a monument to heroes in Kiev and to meet Ukrainian Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov.
It is noted that Lecornieu's visit to Kyiv will take place a few days after President Emmanuel Macron confirmed deliveries of new French weapons to Ukraine and announced new deliveries in early 2023.
It is known that the planned deliveries also include Caesar self-propelled artillery units, but Macron did not specify their number.
French President Emmanuel Macron visited Kiev in June, and French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna has already visited the Ukrainian capital three times.
