One of the four injuries sustained by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo three weeks ago has caused serious health problems for the politician. Fitzo's recovery will be long and will require great efforts from doctors and himself. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Robert Kaliniak, writes Aroundprague with reference to Expres Radio.
In particular, he said that the damage from three wounds is relatively small, but the fourth wound caused significant damage to Robert Fico's abdomen, digestive system and musculoskeletal system.
He added that the head of government's condition was critical, but doctors were able to keep him alive.
According to Kaliniak, Fitzo's body is weakened and the treatment will be long and difficult.
It is pointed out that the attack on Fitzo forced Slovak politicians to revise legislation and increase the protection of public persons. In particular, the coalition is preparing a package of legislative measures. Among them will be, for example, providing housing for top government officials and limiting protests in residential areas.
Also in Slovakia want to toughen the punishment for threats to civil servants, journalists, doctors, judges.
