Virtually every day the occupiers detain civilians at the WOT, throwing them behind bars.

According to rough estimates, the enemy may have about 25,000 civilian prisoners in their hands. This was reported by the Ukrainian parliamentary commissioner for human rights, Dmytro Lubinets.

According to him, there are thousands of such people.

According to my information, about 25 thousand citizens of Ukraine can be considered disappeared under special circumstances. The situation here is not changing, it is extremely terrible: virtually every day Russians detain civilians in the temporarily occupied territories, thus adding to this list," Lubinets said.

He also pointed out that Ukrainian journalist Dmytro Hlyvnyuk is still in the hands of the enemy. He was kidnapped by Russian servicemen in the village of Kozarovichi, Vyshgorodsky district of Kyiv region on 4 March 2022 and kept in captivity for more than a year and a half.

It is not possible to officially obtain information about where he is, what condition he is in or what is happening to him. The Russian side neither me, nor other international organisations, nor mediators, which we join, does not provide such information," said the ombudsman.

Earlier, Dmytro Lubinets said that nine out of ten former prisoners claim that they were tortured in Russian captivity.
