The occupiers sentenced captured Ukrainian military officer Eduard Varbanskyy to 22 years' imprisonment in a high-security penal colony



This was reported in the investigative committee of the Russian Federation.

The occupier's prosecutor's office said that during his military service Varbansky together with Maxim Onipchenko, who is doing his military service on contract in the same military unit, repeatedly carried out illegal orders from the top leadership, shelling residential neighbourhoods of Berdyanskoye, as well as a school. According to the conclusion, the cost of restoration work exceeds 2.4 million rubles.

The occupants in May 2022 took Varbansky captive, he was sentenced to 22 years in prison. The Russian agency also added that Maxim Onipchenko was previously sentenced to 24 years in prison.

In addition, the court of the terrorist country ordered Varbansky and Onipchenko to fully reimburse the damage caused to the state.

Also, the publication Novosti Donbassa reports that the so-called "supreme court" of Crimea passed an illegal sentence on two Ukrainian citizens who were accused of "espionage".

М. Petrovsky was sentenced to 16 years, S. Kotov - 15 years of imprisonment with serving the sentence in a penal colony of strict regime. The trial took place in a closed court session because of the information that allegedly constitutes a state secret.

Earlier, Socialportal reported that a new trial over the Ukrainian defenders of Mariupol from the Azov regiment had started in Russia.
