"Energoatom" reported signs that point to the preparation of possible terrorist acts using radioactive waste.

Energoatom reported :

Over the past week, Russian occupiers have been carrying out unauthorized construction work on the territory of the dry storage facility for spent nuclear fuel (hereinafter referred to as DSFSF) at the Zaporozhye NPP.

Energoatom claims that the Russian military is working on their own in a secret mode. Ukrainian personnel and representatives of the IAEA gathered at the ZNPP site are not allowed to enter the construction site by the invaders.

Energoatom spoke about the consequences of damage to the containers of the dry storage of spent nuclear fuel:

174 containers are stored at the ISFSF, each containing 24 assemblies of spent nuclear fuel. The destruction of these containers as a result of detonation will lead to a radiation accident and radiation contamination of several hundred square kilometers of the adjacent territory.

The second thing that points to a possible future preparation of a terrorist act is that for two days now, representatives of the Russian authorities and all hostile propaganda have been claiming that Ukraine is allegedly preparing a “dirty nuclear bomb”.

Energoatom said:

Allegations that Ukraine is preparing a "dirty nuclear bomb", for which, according to Russia, spent nuclear fuel and radioactive waste stored at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant can be used.

Energoatom assumes that such actions may indicate the preparation of a terrorist act using nuclear materials and radioactive waste stored at the ZNPP site.

Recall that "for the picture" the Russians published a fake map of potential radiation contamination with the epicenter exactly at ZNPP.

SE "NAEK" Energoatom" calls on the International Atomic Energy Agency to assess the provocative and threatening actions and statements of the Russian side as soon as possible.
