The Russians are "nationalising" Ukrainians' real estate in the occupied territories.
In the occupied territories of Zaporizhzhya Region, the Russian authorities are applying the procedure of "nationalisation" of Ukrainians' housing. This was reported by the Centre for National Resistance on 26 May.
After the occupation, the majority of the local population was forced to leave their native places. The Russian authorities have started a new wave of confiscation of Ukrainians' housing.
Approved the procedure, according to which the occupiers can declare "ownerless" premises, if the owner has not re-registered it according to Russian laws, or a year at this address did not pay for utilities.
All property owners must re-register their ownership according to Russian laws within 30 days.
Of course, the majority of the population that has left the cities will not be able to do this. Thus, the Russians will simply seize the housing," the CNS reports.
The CNS stresses that all such transactions are legally null and void and according to Ukrainian laws all owners of housing as of 24 February 2022 and will remain them in the future.
Earlier Socialportal reported that the occupation authorities in Donetsk and Luhansk regions said that the housing of Ukrainians who left to the territory controlled by Ukraine, will be transferred to "municipal ownership".
It was also reported that Ukraine launched a project for remote inspection of destroyed housing in the temporarily occupied territories.
