NZZ named 4 scenarios for what roles the French military could fulfil in Ukraine

Paris believes the Kremlin better understands force rather than compromise.
The Swiss publication NZZ has modelled the options for the presence of French troops in Ukraine. According to the analysts, four scenarios for the deployment of Western troops look the most likely.
Even if Paris is unlikely to take such a step on its own, Macron's threats should be backed up by real possibilities," the publication said.
Thus, according to experts, France can deploy armed forces:
- North of Kiev. They could provide security and prevent an invasion from Belarus. Then the AFU units could be redeployed to the front.
- In the Zaporizhzhya direction - to support the AFU and prevent a breakthrough across the Dnieper.
- In Odessa, as the publication writes, possible deployment to ensure the security of the port.
- It is possible to deploy to Moldova, where the military could support the local army in case of Russian provocations.

The newspaper notes that Paris has not yet voiced any specific intentions regarding the military presence in Ukraine.
However, high-ranking officials of the country most often voice the scenario of a military presence in Odessa," the newspaper said.
Experts note that the presence of the French army in the first and second cases would be primarily strategic and would have political symbolism. The second option with the deployment of forces in the Zaporizhzhya direction has primarily military significance. In this case, the Frances could become an additional defence for the south-east of the country.
If the Russian army attempts a vigorous offensive in the southeast, the territory north of Zaporizhzhya will become an operational Achilles' heel for Ukraine's defence. The city of Dnipro is a real hub for all directions of the country," the article said.
The article said that a forceful option of the French army's involvement is possible. Paris is convinced that Putin is not ready for negotiations and the only thing that can influence him is force.
