A man was wounded at the front by Russian cluster munitions.



DW cameraman Yevhen Shilko came under enemy fire. He was wounded by fragments of Russian cluster munitions. At the time of the shelling, he was more than 20 kilometres from the front line. This is reported by the press service of the agency.

The operator of the media company Deutsche Welle Eugene Shilko was wounded by Russian cluster munitions in the town of Druzhkovka, Kramatorsk district, Donetsk region, located 23 km from the front line, - stated in the message.

It is noted that the media worker was taken to hospital. There he is under the supervision of doctors.

According to the publication, the DW team came under fire from Russian artillery on 22 July, at 12:10 during filming. At the same time, DW journalist Matthias Belinger and a security guard survived the Russian attack unharmed, while Shilko was taken to hospital.

One Ukrainian military officer was also reportedly killed during this attack, with several others seriously injured.

We were filming the Ukrainian army during target practice when suddenly we heard several explosions. We lay down, more explosions went off, we saw that people were wounded. Later, the Ukrainian army confirmed that we were shelled with cluster munitions," DW correspondent told DW.

The journalists' car was also damaged.
