Moldova will not join the sanctions against Russia

On Friday, April 1, Moldovan President Maia Sandu announced this in an interview with Radio Europa Liberă .

As Sandu explained, Moldova could be left without gas and electricity.

Can we leave the country today without natural gas and without electricity? No, we cannot, neither for the sake of our citizens, nor for the sake of 100,000 refugees from Ukraine, of whom 50,000 are children," Maia Sandu said.

According to Sandu, Moldova "enjoys the full support of its Western partners" and they "will try to help Chisinau find alternative options regarding energy resources."
