IOC President Thomas Bach announced the investigation in response to Vadym Gutzeit's official letter dated 6 October 2023.

It is reported that the website of the Russian Olympic Committee has reported that the so-called "Olympic councils" from the occupied territories of the Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions of Ukraine have been recognised. on 5 October, they were admitted to the Russian OC.

The NOC of Ukraine recalled that the so-called Olympic councils from the occupied Crimea and Sevastopol joined the OC of Russia back in 2016.

The relevant issue will be discussed at the meeting of the IOC Executive Committee next week in Mumbai (India), - noted in the Ministry of youth and sports.
