The Ministry of Justice has simplified the conclusion of marriage during the war

Marriage during the war can be concluded in one day.
The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine has simplified the conclusion of marriage during martial law. This can be done within one day of applying and remotely via Zoom. This was reported by the Deputy Minister of Justice Valeria Kolomiets .
Today's circumstances lead to the fact that people sometimes do not have the opportunity to wait. Because we all found ourselves in circumstances where we do not know what will happen tomorrow and even tonight. Therefore, it is now possible to apply and formalize marriage in a day. People who have expressed a desire can get married during the day, Kolomiets explained.
At the same time, she stressed that there is no need for territorial binding for marriage.
Today, marriage registration can take place in any registry office in the territory where there are no hostilities, she stressed.
At the same time, under certain conditions, marriages can be registered not only by employees of the registry office. It can be both police and military. In particular, this is true for women and men who serve. For them, they made it possible to marry remotely.
They can contact their commander and apply that they want to get married remotely. Thus, you can register a marriage even if one of the spouses is not physically present. A person who is not in the military unit can be connected remotely. And even both of the pair can be connected remotely, just via Zoom,” the Deputy Minister informed.
Nearly 22,000 Ukrainian couples have married since the start of the full-scale war, according to the Justice Ministry, more than usual. This is due in particular to martial law.
