The Russian occupiers have almost completely destroyed the city and destroyed its infrastructure.

The Russian invaders have already caused damage to Mariupol in the Donetsk region in the amount of $14.5 billion. This is stated in the statement of the mayor of Mariupol Vadim Boychenko:

Of the 2,600 apartment buildings, half have been destroyed. In total, according to our estimates, 33,000 infrastructure facilities were damaged.

He emphasized that Russia should pay reparations to Mariupol and added that the Russian occupiers continue to destroy houses in order to destroy the traces of their war crimes:

But they are already fixed. Therefore, Russia will not be able to escape responsibility for its crimes.

Earlier in Mariupol, the Russian invaders announced the connection of the houses of local residents to gas supply. However, less than 8% of homes received gas. As noted in the Mariupol City Council, out of more than 45 thousand private houses, only about 4 thousand received gas, out of more than 2.6 thousand apartment buildings, only 54 received gas. Most residents still have to use firewood or improvised materials.
