Several mines were found in the buffer zone between the inner and outer perimeter of the site during the inspection on 23 July

This was stated in a statement by the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Mariano Grossi.

This is an area to which plant personnel have no access. Experts noted that the mines are directed away from the site, there were no mines on the inner perimeter of the industrial site.

After the mines were found in the buffer zone, the agency's experts reported the discovery to the so-called occupation "NPP management". It turned out that it was a "military decision" in the zone controlled by the occupants.

However, the presence of such explosive devices at the site does not comply with IAEA safety standards and nuclear safety instructions, and creates additional psychological pressure on the plant's personnel," Grossi said.

The IAEA team reportedly heard several detonations at some distance from the plant on the evening of 22 July. Therefore, IAEA experts continue to insist on gaining access to the reactor roofs of Zaporizhzhya NPP, which has been under occupation since the beginning of March 2022. As well as to the machine rooms of the plant, in particular to power units No. 3 and No. 4, which are "of particular interest".

Earlier Socialportal reported that the IAEA experts are still waiting for the necessary access to the roofs of the third and fourth power units of ZNPP.

In intelligence estimated the probability of a terrorist attack at ZNPP.

Energoatom assesses the situation at ZNPP as complicated, reporting that occupants continue to mine the plant.
