IAEA is ready to send a mission to ZNPP

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has finished forming a group that will visit the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant. It is assumed that the experts will go on a mission to the nuclear power plant in the coming week. The New York Times writes about it.

The newspaper specifies that the group included: the head of the IAEA, Rafael Mariano Grossi, and 13 more experts from mostly neutral countries.

It is emphasized that the mission does not include specialists from countries that actively support Ukraine in the war with Russia. We are talking about experts from the USA, Great Britain, Poland, the Baltic States, etc.

Earlier, Ukraine called for sending a mission to the ZNPP, referring to the fact that the nuclear power plant is constantly under fire from Russian troops, which, in turn, threatens the security of not only our country, but also a number of European countries.

Kyiv does not exclude a nuclear catastrophe, and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine is stocking up on medicines in case of an emergency at the ZNPP.

It is known that recently for the first time in history the station was completely disconnected from the power grid. This happened as a result of interruptions in the operation of the power line.

We add that the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, said in an interview with the French media about the possible establishment of a permanent presence of the agency at the Zaporozhye NPP.
