French President Emmanuel Macron has arrived in Kiev as part of a "coalition of the resolute".

French President Emmanuel Macron has said that Ukraine's fight against Russian aggression is important not only for the country itself but also for the entire continent. In his statement on 10 May, made upon his arrival in Kiev with the leaders of Germany, Poland and the UK, he highlighted three main aspects: peace, sovereignty and Ukraine's future.

In particular, in his X (Twitter) post, Macron said he admired the courage of Ukrainians who have been standing up to the invader with dignity for more than three years.

You are fighting for your land, freedom and security of all Europe. It is a matter of protecting the stability of the entire continent, - the French leader stressed.

He also emphasised the need for a collective response to Russian aggression and addressed Ukrainians with a three-part message.

Firstly, peace. A just and long-term peace is possible only through a complete ceasefire. We proposed this initiative to the United States. Ukraine accepted this proposal back on 11 March, but Russia continues to delay the process, setting conditions and buying time by continuing its war of aggression," Macron said.

The French president warned that if the Russian blockade continues, Europe, together with the United States, will increase pressure on Moscow.

We support President Trump's call for this action. Our unity is our strength. That is the purpose of this trip: we all seek peace! - he added.

The second important point is Ukraine's sovereignty. Macron emphasised that any future peace agreement must guarantee Ukraine's security.

We are working on this, starting with meetings in Paris, London and today here in Kiev. We are moving forward together," the French president said.

Finally, wrote the French President, the third point is - the future.

Ukraine is fighting not only for its country, but also for the European values we share. Free, strong, prosperous and European Ukraine is our common horizon - Macron emphasised.

History is watching us," he concluded.

New German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Kiev on 10 May.
