London intends to call on Western leaders to provide more assistance to Ukraine

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak intends to call on allies to double military aid to Ukraine at the Munich conference, which discusses the most pressing challenges to international security, Sky News has reported.

Rishi Sunak intends to say that "advanced capabilities by NATO standards" are needed to expel Russian troops and will call for more precision-guided weapons to be given to Ukraine.

According to Sunak, securing a lasting peace in Ukraine will also require strengthening international law, so the politician intends to call for a new plan to defend Ukraine's sovereignty in the future.

Because Russia's invasion, its heinous war crimes and irresponsible nuclear rhetoric are symptoms of a wider threat to everything we believe in - says Sunak.

Recall that the Munich Security Conference, the world's most renowned forum on foreign policy and defence issues, opened in Munich on Friday.

It should be noted that many high-ranking Western officials are attending the Munich conference, including German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, French President Emmanuel Macron and US Vice-President Kamala Harris. Over 40 heads of state and government, some 90 ministers, as well as hundreds of politicians and experts from around the world are expected to arrive in the Bavarian capital.

One of the largest delegations at the conference is Ukrainian. The list of participants includes Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, over 20 deputies of the Verkhovna Rada and Ukrainian experts. The war in Ukraine will be the main topic in Munich.
