The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has exposed a Russian agent reporting information on the deployment of strategically important facilities in western Ukraine.

This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

Last May, SBU officers detained a collaborator in Lviv Region who was given the highest preventive measure - life imprisonment and confiscation of property - by a court.

According to the investigation, a resident of the regional centre, who had been recruited by the Russian special service after the start of the full-scale invasion, was convicted. He came to the attention of the enemy because of his destructive activities on pro-Kremlin Telegram channels, including Solovyov Live and Kadyrov 95," the report said.

The task of the attacker was to travel around the region and record the locations of critical infrastructure and military facilities. This data was used by the aggressor to correct repeated rocket attacks.

In addition, the collaborator monitored the consequences of Russian air attacks and reported on the state of such facilities.

He used messengers to communicate with the aggressor. During searches of the perpetrator's residence, a mobile phone, which he used for reconnaissance and subversive activities in favour of Russia, was found, the SBU added.

The court found the resident of Lviv Region guilty under Part 2 of Article 111 (high treason) of the Ukrainian Criminal Code.
