"Kyiv ghosts" who died in aerial battles were established memorials to them

Commemorative memorials have been erected in honour of the "ghosts of Kyiv" - heroic pilots of the 40 tactical aviation brigade of Air Command Centre who died in the battle for Kyiv in the winter and spring of 2022. This was reported by the Air Command "Centre".

At the cost of their own lives military pilots defended the capital from the enemy invasion, when in the sky against one or two Ukrainian aircraft opposed 4-5-12 aircraft of the aggressor. But all of them, as one, fought the ferocious enemy to the end," the message reads.

A memorial to the Hero of Ukraine, Colonel Vyacheslav Yerko was opened in the village of Vladimirovka in Kyiv region.

Hero of Ukraine, Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Brynzhala - in the village of Rakovychi in Zhytomyr region.

Hero of Ukraine, Lieutenant Colonel Andriy Lyutashin - in the village of Berezovka in the Kyiv region.

Hero of Ukraine, Captain Vyacheslav Radionov - in the village of Malaya Saltanovka, Kyiv region.

Lieutenant Colonel Volodymyr Kohansky and Senior Lieutenant Roman Pasulka - in the village of Bloshchintsy, Kyiv region.

The commemorative events were attended by the leadership and personnel, military chaplains, families and relatives of the victims, representatives of local authorities and communities.

The issue of renaming Kyiv's Vozdukhoflotskyi Avenue in honour of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is being resolved jointly with the Kyiv authorities.
