Kazakhstan is preparing for a Russian attack

The authorities of Kazakhstan strengthen the military sphere and prepare for defense
It is reported by The Wall Street Journal.
Since Russia's attack on Ukraine, the Kazakh authorities are taking the claims of the neighboring country particularly seriously. Concerns are raised by Putin's words that Kazakhstan did not have a history of statehood before the collapse of the Soviet Union. More than 20% of Kazakhstan's population are ethnic Russians, who claimed even before Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine that the north of Kazakhstan belongs to the Russian Federation.
In early July, relations between Russia and Kazakhstan began to deteriorate after Kazakhstan's withdrawal from the CIS agreement on the currency committee.
In the spring, Kazakhstan strengthened military cooperation with Turkey, China and the United States. Since February 24, Kazakhstan's defense budget has increased by 441 billion tenge, or about $918 million. It is planned to reform the army and increase military reserves. The authorities are paying more and more attention to the development of the country's defense sector.
