Those who remained in Avdiivka do not want to leave the city.

A total of 1,230 people remain in Avdiivka in Donetsk Region. Most of them are not planning to leave the city. Vitaliy Barabash, head of the Avdiivka Civil Aviation Administration, told about this during a telethon.

He said that only five people had been persuaded and taken away from the front line over the past 24 hours.

As of this morning, 1,230 people remain in the city. Of course, this is a lot. Recently we have seen a decrease in those willing to leave. On average, 3-6 people per day now agree to leave. During the period of aggravation in our direction left more than 350 people, - said Barabash.

He pointed out that the residents of Avdeevka are constantly under fire. They live in the basements of multi-storey and private houses. Only some of them are in their flats.

The enemy is conducting a lot of activity in our direction. These are dozens of attacks during the day, but our guys do not let them get a foothold somewhere. If they even manage to advance a little somewhere, they are immediately repelled by artillery, mortars and rocket artillery. In other words, the enemy does not have any serious entrenchment. The defence line around our city is holding," Barabash added.

Barabash said that the enemy was constantly trying to storm Avdiivka, using mobilised men and the Storm-V and Storm-Z groups, which undergo special training beforehand.

It is known that Avdeevka has a symbolic meaning for Putin. And he wants to "present" it to himself in time for the official announcement of his participation in the "elections".

As military experts point out, the Russian Federation has thrown about 40,000 troops to storm the small town.

Note, the UK Ministry of Defence published on its page in the social network X (formerly Twitter) video, how Avdeevka looks now.

This is Avdeevka. In 2022, Russia planned to capture this city and the entire Donbass in just 10-14 days. Instead, the latest assaults have increased the number of Russian casualties by 90 per cent," the report said.

The footage shows destroyed multi-storey buildings and craters from the explosions of aerial bombs.
