Seven Indian citizens have published a video message in which they said that the Russian authorities forced them to fight in Ukraine.

A group of Indian citizens has published a video message in which they said that the Russian Federation was forcing them to fight in Ukraine. This is reported by the Indian media.

The Indians claim that they came to the Russian Federation to celebrate the new year at the end of December 2023. Then, they said, a travel agent suggested they also visit Belarus.

We didn't know we needed a visa, when we arrived in Belarus, the agent asked us for money and then disappeared," they said.

After that they were detained by the police and handed over to the Russians, who forced them to sign documents. As it turned out, it was a consent to serve in the army.

Now we are being forced to fight in the war against Ukraine," the Indian citizens say.

It was explained to them that the alternative to military service in the Russian army could be imprisonment for 10 years.
