In Mykolaiv, the SBU detained an FSB informant

An FSB informant collected intelligence on the locations and movements of the Defence Forces on the territory of Mykolaiv Region. This is reported by the SBU.

According to the investigation, the attacker travelled abroad at the beginning of the full-scale invasion and started to actively support the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, after which he was remotely recruited by the Russian security services.

Returning to Ukraine in March this year, he tried to identify possible locations of military airfields with combat aircraft of the AFU," the report said.

It is established that remote communication with the Russian intelligence service he maintained through "liaisons". One of them turned out to be pro-Kremlin blogger Sergei Lebedev (better known under the pseudonym "Shaggy"), who is in temporarily occupied Donetsk and works for the FSB.

During correspondence with the hostile blogger, the agent supported anti-Ukrainian narratives and "leaked" information about the deployment of the Defence Forces on the territory of the region.

The agent collected the "necessary" information through personal contacts and from open sources. In addition, he went around the area and covertly recorded Ukrainian objects, and then passed the "report" to the FSB in the form of text and photos with georeferencing," the SBU said.

During the search, the detainee's mobile phone, which he used to communicate with Lebedev, was seized.

On the basis of the collected evidence, the defendant was reported on suspicion of part 3 of article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He faces up to 12 years in prison.
