Radiation contamination of the territories of NATO countries will be considered an attack by Russia.

An attack on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant will cause a response from the military forces of NATO countries. This was announced by the British MP, chairman of the special committee on defense in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom Tobias Ellwood on Twitter.

Any intentional damage that would lead to a potential radiation leak at the Ukrainian nuclear reactor would be a violation of NATO Article 5," Tobias Ellwood wrote, commenting on The Times article that Russia is preparing provocations at the captured ZNPP.

The words of Tobias Ellwood were confirmed by the member of the House of Representatives from Illinois, Adam Kinzinger.

It's not even discussed. Any leak will kill people in NATO countries. This is automatically Article 5,” said Adam Kinzinger.

Recall that Article 5 is the main one in the NATO Charter, according to which an attack on one country is considered an attack on all NATO allies.
