Hungarian far-right party leader says his party may demand Zakarpattia

The politician believes that pressure from "international financiers" led to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
The leader of the Hungarian far-right party Mi Hazank Mozgalom (Our Homeland), László Torotskai, has said that if Ukraine loses to Russia, his political force will demand that Hungary give Ukrainian Transcarpathia to Hungary. This was reported by the Hungarian edition of Index.
Speaking at the annual party conference in Budapest, Torotskai said that the war in Ukraine was started under pressure from "international financiers". Moreover, he said that Ukraine had been "bought" by the international investment fund BlackRock.
The leader of the far-right party also said that the war that continues in Ukraine "will destroy Europe and send the continent's economy to the bottom", so he favours an immediate ceasefire and negotiations with Russia.
If Ukrainian statehood ceases to exist as a result of the war, Mi Hazank will claim Transcarpathia as the only parliamentary party," he added.
We shall remind you that in December 2023, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that the government would continue working so that the Hungarian community in Transcarpathia "could live in a peaceful, stable developing country".
