Kharkiv mayor names amount needed to rebuild city


The authorities will not be able to rebuild the city on their own, Terekhov said.
At least 9.5bn dollars will be needed to rebuild Kharkiv's infrastructure after enemy shelling and bombing. This was announced by the city's mayor, Igor Terekhov, on the air of the national telethon.
Kharkiv needs at least $9.5 billion to rebuild Kharkiv," the mayor of Kharkiv said.
Terekhov underlined that the given sum is necessary not only for building and repair of housing fund, but also for restoration of infrastructure, public buildings, roads, schools, hospitals and parks.
He noted that the authorities cannot restore the city on their own, so they count on international assistance, including the USA.
At the same time, Terekhov noted that it was too early to talk about the final amount needed to restore the destruction. The enemy is still shelling the city and the damage to the city may increase.
