Girl murdered in Germany: father intends to take the body to Ukraine


An acquaintance of her mother's is suspected in the child's murder.
On Friday evening, almost 2,000 residents of the German town of Debeln gathered in the central Obermarkt square. There people honoured the memory of the 9-year-old murdered Valeria from Ukraine. About it writes Bild.

Meanwhile, the father of the girl, who was still in Ukraine in the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, has forbidden to bury the child in Germany. He intends to come for the body and bury his daughter in his home country.
I want to take my daughter home and bury her here in Ukraine. I will not leave her there," he told reporters of the publication.

It is known that in 2022 Valeria fled from Ukraine to Germany together with her mother, grandmother and sister. They settled in the city of Döbeln in Saxony. The girl's father remained in Ukraine. During this time, the parents divorced.
Nine-year-old Valeria disappeared on 3 June on her way to school. A week later, her body was found in a forest in the south of the city. On Friday, a 36-year-old Moldovan citizen, the main suspect in the murder, was detained in Prague. He had previously been in a relationship with Valeria's mother.
