Ukrainians receiving unemployment benefits in Germany will face tough sanctions in 2026. According to Bild, deductions from payments will be increased from 10% to 30% for missing mandatory meetings at job centres.

Repeated refusal of a job offer could lead to a complete withdrawal of financial support. The standard allowance will remain at €563 for singles and between €357 and €471 for children, depending on age.

The government attributes the decision to the need to adjust payments after the 2024 rise. Labour Minister Berbel Bas said the new measures should improve discipline and encourage employment.
