Previously, Russia supplied Germany with 40% of coal and 40% of oil.

About this writes the publication "European truth" with reference to Reuters.

From August 1, Germany will stop buying Russian coal. From December 31, she will refuse Russian oil.

This was stated by Deputy Finance Minister Jörg Kukis.

According to Kukis, the key future challenge will be filling the huge gap that will remain when the European Union phases out 158 billion cubic meters of gas per year supplied by Russia.

“To anyone who is familiar with the history of the Druzhba oil pipeline, which was already an instrument of the Soviet empire over Eastern Europe, getting rid of this dependence is not a trivial matter, but this is what we will achieve in a few months,” Kukis said.

Germany will now buy liquefied natural gas from the US and Qatar.
