Russian invaders completely destroyed Rubizhne in the Luhansk region.
On May 20, Sergei Gaidai, head of the Luhansk regional military administration, said the industrial city had been razed to the ground.
There are no surviving buildings, many houses cannot be restored. There are cemeteries in the yards. Before the war, more than 60,000 people lived here,” he said.
According to Gaidai, part of the city's residents were evacuated to safe cities in Ukraine or abroad, and some were deported to Russia or to the occupied territories. There are also those who are still held hostage by the Kadyrovites and live in the basements of the city.
Looted, scorched brick boxes - this is now our Rubizhne. We will build it almost from scratch, - said the head of the OVA.
