The Union of Road Carriers of Slovakia (UNAS) will join the protest of its Polish colleagues and block the Vishne Nemetske-Uzhhorod border crossing point on 1 December. It is not known how long the blockade will last.

UNAS announced this on Facebook.

The statement said the Slovak Road Transport Union will begin blocking the border on 1 December 2023 at 15:00. The strike will continue "until further notice".

The aim of the protest was to support Polish hauliers who have been blocking the Ukrainian border for 4 weeks. And also the demand to cancel the agreement between the EU and Ukraine on transport traffic.

The blockade will in no way restrict the transport of humanitarian goods, military aid, live animals, fuel and chilled (fresh goods). These transports will cross the border without restrictions," UNAS notes.

In addition, transporters will allow commercial trucks through at the rate of: 4 vehicles per hour.

Recall, Slovak ha uliers have already blocked the checkpoint "Vishne Nemetske - Uzhgorod". on 21 November, only passenger cars were allowed through during the strike.
