Today, 16 November, the Union of Road Carriers of Slovakia (UNAS) carried out a precautionary blockade of the Ukrainian border, blocking the border crossing point on the hour.

This was reported by the Slovak agency TASR.

The Vishne Nemecke checkpoint was blocked by the Slovak side from 13:00 to 14:00. Representatives of Polish hauliers who blocked the border with Ukraine in Poland also took part in the protest.

Slovak car riers say that if the European Commission does not react to the protest, they will completely close the border with Ukraine.

We will wait for seven days to see if they will respond to us.... If there is no progress, the Poles will continue to block the borders and we will join in by closing all of Wyszynie Deutschland. We will have to, because there is no other way," UNAS head Stanislav Skala told TASR.

According to him, Hungarian carriers think the same way.

It is noted that the blockade of the Ukrainian border from the Slovak side did not affect the work of customs.

Earlier Socialportal reported that UNAS appealed to the Ministry of transport of Slovakia, threatening to block checkpoints for Ukrainian carriers. The carriers demand the return of issuing commercial permits for transport within the EU.
