Olena Zelenska and Brigitte Macron visited a school in Paris where Ukrainian children study.
The first ladies of Ukraine and France have visited a school in the French capital Paris where Ukrainian children study. Olena Zelenska said about it on Facebook.
Olena Zelenska said that more than 17,000 Ukrainian children, who have found refuge from the war in this country, were studying in schools in France. And they often need special attention and psychological support.
Together with her colleague - the First Lady of France Brigitte Macron - and the French Minister of Education Gabriel Attal today visited one of these schools, where Ukrainians now study alongside French people and children from many other cultures in France: Arbalet Primary School - a French public primary school located in the central part of Paris, in the historic V arrondissement of the city, - wrote Zelenskaya.
In April 2022, with the assistance of the Ukrainian Embassy in France, the Academy of Paris introduced Ukrainian language courses at the school for temporarily displaced children from Ukraine. The courses are available and free of charge for both Ukrainians and children of other nationalities.
Ukrainian children have endured too much because of the Russian invasion, from physical danger to the moral ordeal of leaving home and having to settle in a new place, often in a new culture," Zelenska emphasised.
