European countries have outlined unacceptable conditions for the US in a possible agreement between Ukraine and Russia

The French foreign minister said that the EU's priority remains the interests of Europe.
Representatives of European states have notified the USA of points unacceptable to them in a possible peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia ahead of a new round of talks to be held on 23 April. French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot announced their demands to the possible deal, Reuters reported.
Barrot emphasised that for France the key priorities are the protection of French interests and the security of the entire continent.
Our main goal is to protect French interests and European security. If the US takes on the role of mediator, we want them to know where our red lines are," the minister said.
Asked about the possibility of a peace agreement this week, Barro said that everything depends on the actions of Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
We will remind, on 17 April 2025 in Paris held the first meeting of the Ukrainian delegation with representatives of the "coalition of the willing" to discuss a ceasefire and security guarantees for Ukraine. Subsequently, a meeting was held between French President Macron and Trump's special envoy Whitkoff and US Secretary of State Rubio to discuss peace talks to end Russia's war against Ukraine. Following the meeting, the delegations of Ukraine, the United States, France, the United Kingdom and Germany agreed that a full and unconditional ceasefire should be the first step towards a lasting peace.
