EU will not recognize passports issued by Russia to Ukrainians

Russia has simplified the procedure for obtaining a Russian passport for all Ukrainians
This is stated by Hromadske with reference to the statement of EU representative Josep Borrell.
The new Russian legislation, which now simplifies the procedure for obtaining citizenship of the Russian Federation for all Ukrainians, is another gross violation of Ukrainian sovereignty related to Russia's illegal war," he wrote.
The European Union condemned the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, which provides for a simplified procedure for granting Russian citizenship to all Ukrainians. The EU will not recognize Russian passports issued to citizens of Ukraine.
Earlier, on July 11, Putin amended the decree of 2019, which simplified the acquisition of citizenship for residents of the “L/DPR”, and from May 25 for residents of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Now the President of the Russian Federation has allowed all citizens of Ukraine to apply for Russian passports under a simplified procedure.
