EU says when it will be able to match Russia in the number of ammunition

Russia has rebuilt its industry into a military one. Many enterprises of the military-industrial complex work in three shifts.
The EU has accelerated the production of shells. Already within the next year, Europeans will be able to equal Russia's production capacity. This was told by EU Commissioner for Internal Market Thierry Breton, reports La Tribune.
He noted that by the end of this year the EU plans to reach the level of 1.7 million shells per year, and in 2025 to equal the production capacity of Russia, that is, to produce 2.5 million shells per year.
We have accelerated the production of ammunition," the EU commissioner said.
At the same time, he noted that in March 2023 Europe produced 500 thousand shells per year.
He stressed that in addition to their own production, European countries against the background of escalating relations with Russia should increase defence purchases.
Europe should continue to rearm in the coming years," he said.
Breton stressed that his viewpoint is shared by politicians from many EU countries, who believe, just like him, that Europe should arm itself.
We must be able to supply weapons to the European army on time," the commissioner said.
