The Russian Federation said the Baltic states and Poland were "rattling their arms" and behaving "aggressively".

Polish President Andrzej Duda has described threats by the head of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergey Naryshkin, to the Baltic States and Poland in case of a NATO "attack" as nothing but "classic Russian disinformation". He made this statement at a press conference in Zagreb after a meeting with Croatian President Zoran Milnovic, RAR reported.

In particular, the Polish president was asked to comment on a statement by Sergei Naryshkin, who threatened the West with a "response to a possible NATO attack" on Russia or Belarus, claiming that in such a case the Baltic States and Poland would suffer first of all.

Duda characterised the words as "classic Russian disinformation" reminiscent of Soviet propaganda methods.

These words come from the country that is moving nuclear weapons to Belarus, bringing them closer to the borders of NATO and the European Union. This is the Russia that is acting aggressively against NATO, implementing its plan of brutal imperialism and has been waging a full-scale war against Ukraine for three years in a row," he said.

He stressed that NATO is a purely defence alliance.

All NATO's actions are a response to Russian aggression. NATO has never been an aggressor and has no plans to attack. It is an alliance aimed at defending security," the Polish president said.

Duda also called for reason and calm, emphasising the importance of continuing the current policy focused on strengthening security and stability in the region.
