The Kherson region continues to eliminate the consequences of the Kakhovka hydro-electric power plant explosion.
Eight people are currently known dead and 42 are reported missing. This is reported by the Ukrainian Interior Ministry.
In Kherson Region, 46 settlements were affected by the Russian terrorist attack on the Kakhovka reservoir. Over 2,700 people have already been evacuated from them.
In Kherson region, 46 settlements remain submerged, including: 32 (3,801 houses) in controlled territory, 14 in temporarily occupied territory. A total of 2,743 people have been evacuated, including 205 children and 76 people with low mobility. Eight people were killed. 42 people have been reported missing, including 7 children," the Interior Ministry said.
It is known that 1927 citizens of Kherson region have turned to the police with reports of waterlogging of their personal property. In addition, the flooding affected 31 settlements in the Mykolayiv region. Two people were killed and 982 people, including 167 children, were evacuated.
Interior Minister Igor Klimenko said that the water level is going down. The Interior Ministry is tightening security measures.
We are recording a steady lowering of the water level in the flooded settlements. We are tightening security measures to prevent injuries and thefts," said the Minister.
At the same time, Dnipropetrovsk region is partially without water supply. Nearly 165 thousand customers in 32 settlements remain without water. The region continues to search for options for stable water supply and delivery of water to local residents.
