Supplies of artillery ammunition from the DPRK are critical for Russia.

North Korea is sending "insane amounts" of artillery ammunition to Russia, which affects the intensity of fighting on the frontline. Thus, the North Korean dictatorship remains the Kremlin's main military ally in the war against the Ukrainian people. This was reported by the head of the military intelligence service, Kyrylo Budanov, during the Yalta European Strategy (YES) conference.

The head of the Ukrainian intelligence service said that Kiev knows in what volumes and by what ways weapons get to Russia. According to him, Ukraine sees the full route of cargoes from the DPRK to Russia: arrival of a ship, its unloading, movement of cargo by railway, delivery to warehouses and distribution from them to the battle line.

Ukraine is tracking the full route of such deliveries, but so far it cannot counteract it," Budanov said.

He emphasised that the Russian army is now critically dependent on these supplies.

We have long seen a pattern, that is, with the arrival of a North Korean ship, which delivers a cargo of ammunition, in 8-9 days, the maximum intensification of hostilities within two weeks. And this is a direct correlation," the intelligence chief added.

Speaking about the volume of supplies, Budanov said that they are "crazy".

Recall, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un at a meeting with the Secretary of the Security Council Sergei Shoigu, which took place days in Pyongyang, wished the Russian Federation "victory, prosperity and happiness". In the summer of 2024, Putin paid his first official visit to the DPRK since 2000. During the trip, the president signed a comprehensive strategic partnership treaty with the North Korean leader. After that, intelligence reported an increase in cargo traffic from North Korea to Russian Federation.
