Bloomberg: without a breakthrough in negotiations, the war in Ukraine could continue for another year or two

Negotiations between Ukraine, Russia and the USA have reached an impasse, while the Russian army is preparing for a new offensive campaign. Experts warn that the conflict may continue for at least another one or two years with serious consequences for the region and international security.
Russia's war against Ukraine may continue for at least another one or two years due to the lack of a breakthrough both on the frontline and in diplomatic negotiations. Bloomberg writes about this.
The publication notes that hopes for a quick diplomatic solution to the conflict are fading as US President Donald Trump's attention is now focused on the consequences of the US and Israeli attack on Iran.
US-mediated talks between Ukraine and Russia have stalled and there are few signs that they will be resumed soon," the newspaper said.
At the same time, Bloomberg's Kremlin sources say the Russian army is preparing for a new offensive campaign.
Without a breakthrough in negotiations, the war could drag on for another year or two," one of the paper's interlocutors said.
Another source added that significant progress is unlikely because Russian troops cannot overcome Ukraine's dense defences, including through the active use of drones.
US-brokered talks on ending the war are now effectively put on pause. Several rounds of trilateral meetings involving Ukraine, the US and Russia took place in January and February, but they did not yield concrete results. The next meeting, which was scheduled for early March in Abu Dhabi, was postponed indefinitely due to the aggravation of the situation around Iran.
We shall remind you that bilateral negotiations between the Ukrainian and US delegations without Russia took place in Miami on 21-22 March. Following their results, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that there was no real progress in the peace process due to Russia's unwillingness to stop the war.
