Belarus believes that "provocations" are being prepared against the country.

This was stated by Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei in an interview with one of the Russian publications.

The head of our country held a number of meetings with law enforcement agencies, and a counter-terrorist operation regime was introduced. Indeed, there was information that some neighboring states were planning provocations related almost to the seizure of certain sections of the territory of Belarus,” Makei said.

He also stated that the world has become unpredictable and no one can be trusted.

According to Belarusian legislation, for the duration of the counter-terrorist operation law enforcement agencies receive expanded powers: to restrict and prohibit the movement of vehicles and people in the CTO zone, to detain and inspect citizens, to use transport and communications of citizens and organizations, to enter at any time of the day housing or other legal possessions of citizens (including with the use of force), etc.

It also recently became known that Russia and Belarus agreed to deploy a regional group of troops. "more than one thousand" Russian military should be stationed in Belarus.
